Before working with Dynamic Legend, a sample block must be created in the legend view. A block can be created with:

  • Lines
  • Text
  • Generic Annotations - A text that contains certain parameter value:
  • Legend components
  • Detail Item (Frame) - A frame has to sized as the Legend Component element:
  • Dimensions - It has to be applied for the Detail Item (Frame)

NOTE: It must have generic annotations M_SM_Legend Parameter Text.rfa. This text annotation will contain the parameter value accordingly. An example of this family will be loaded into the project by clicking “Load Sample Annotations”. The family name may change, but the beginning (for metric projects: M_SM_Legend Parameter Text; for imperial projects: I_SM_Legend Parameter Text) must be corresponding.

Sample block can have different designs:

- Horizontal sample block. A block includes element legend component with dimensions and the parameter under. The block can be used to array and extend the given parameters down (e.g. Width, height, material, counts etc.)
- Horizontal sample block. A block includes an image of the elements and a parameter under. The block can be used to array and extend the given parameters down (e.g. Width, height, material, counts etc.)
- Horizontal sample block. A block includes element legend component and its different views (front view, top view and elevation view) and a parameter under. The block can be used to array and extend the given parameters down (e.g. Width, height, material, counts etc.)

- Vertical sample block. A block includes element legend component and a parameter on the side. The block can be used to array and extend the given parameters to the right side (e.g. Width, height, material, counts etc.)
